A new dry cargo ship of the RSD59 project has been launched in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On April 17, 2026, at 16:50, Society At the OSK "Krasnoe Sormovo" plant, a solemn ceremony was held for the launching of another dry cargo ship of project RSD59. The vessel is intended for the transportation of a wide range of cargoes, including general and bulk cargoes, packaged timber, round timber, scrap metal, metal in bundles and rolls, as well as oversized, long, and heavy shipments. Additionally, the dry cargo ship will be able to transport coal, hazardous cargoes, and cargoes of category "B." The construction is being carried out according to the project of the "Marine Engineering Bureau-SPb" on behalf of GTLK. The vessel is a self-propelled single-deck dry cargo ship for marine and mixed (river-sea) navigation of class "Volga-Don max." The design includes two cargo holds and two fully rotating propellers. The RSD59 project is being implemented serially at the enterprise. Earlier, five series of such dry cargo ships were built at "Krasnoe Sormovo," which are used for transporting general and bulk cargoes, timber, metal, coal, hazardous, and other categories of cargo.
