The former deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod colony was sentenced to 14 years.
On April 15, 2026, at 17:04, Incidents In Nizhny Novgorod, a verdict was handed down to former deputy head of IK-5 Vadim Kozlov. He was found guilty of bribery and fraud, the regional prosecutor's office reported.
It was established that from 2016 to 2020, the defendant, holding a managerial position in the colony, received over 20,000 rubles from an inmate. For this money, he provided general protection, allowed the use of a mobile phone, returned previously seized devices, and permitted leniencies in the regime.
In addition, from April to June 2024, the man, using his trusted relationship with another inmate, provided him with false information about an alleged opportunity to influence the imposition of a minimum sentence. For this, he received over 280,000 rubles, which he disposed of at his discretion.
The illegal actions were detected and suppressed by the FSB and the Internal Security Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The man was dismissed from the FSIN back in 2020 and was detained in 2023.
The court sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment with a fine of 450,000 rubles and a ban on holding positions in the executive branch for 3 years.
Taking into account the verdict from November 6, 2024, he was ultimately sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony, a fine of 2,300,000 rubles, and a ban on holding positions in the executive branch for 10 years.
Previously, the former head of the same Nizhny Novgorod correctional colony was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison.
