The Nizhny Novgorod FAS will strengthen price control in flooded areas.
April 10, 2026 16:52 Society The Federal Antimonopoly Service has intensified control over pricing due to the flooding situation. This was reported on the organization's website.
At the beginning of April, the agency sent relevant instructions to its territorial offices.
Regional divisions have been instructed to establish closer cooperation with the authorities of the subjects and municipalities. This is necessary for the prompt exchange of information and to prevent possible price increases during floods.
If a flooding situation arises in the region, the FAS offices will send letters to producers of drinking water, food products, and medicines, as well as to large retail and pharmacy chains, reminding them of the need to maintain sufficient stock of goods. The agency will also emphasize the importance of fair behavior in the market and the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases.
In addition, monitoring of the prices of these goods is planned to be launched.
In case of signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation, the service promised to take responsive measures.
