The work will take place as part of an agreement between JSC "Russian Post" and the regional government. Funding for the repairs will be provided from the funds saved by the company due to the regional property tax exemption. This support measure completely exempts "Russian Post" from paying this tax, allowing the freed-up funds to be directed towards infrastructure renewal. The Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexander Sinelobov, emphasized that the development of modern services is impossible without comfortable physical infrastructure. According to him, the renovation of the post offices will make visits to the post office more convenient, especially for elderly people, young parents, and citizens with limited health capabilities. In 2026, major repairs will be conducted in the offices located in the Vadsky and Uren districts, as well as in the Kstovsky, Priokskiy, Sormovsky, Avtozavodsky, Sovetsky, and Kanavinsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod. The Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Post Office, Sergey Dubrovkin, noted that cooperation with regional authorities allows for the expansion of the modernization program. "The signed agreement will expand opportunities for repairs not only for rural post offices but also for those in the regional center," he stated. A similar agreement was already implemented in 2025. At that time, offices in several municipal districts were renovated, including Ardatovsky, Shatkovsky, Bolshimurashkinsky, Varnavinsky, Buturlinovsky, Voznesensky, Vetluzhsky, Volodarsky, Gaginsky, Gorodetsky, Koverninsky, Krasnobakovsky, Pochinkovsky, and Sosnovsky. Additionally, modernization affected offices in the Semyonovsky, Arzamas, Vyksa, and Perevoz districts. The renewal of rural offices is being carried out in two directions: repairing premises and expanding the accessibility of services. The buildings are being modernized with updated internal spaces and facades, heating systems, fire alarms, and video surveillance, as well as climate control equipment. Employees' workstations are equipped with new technology connected to online services. "Health corners" are also being created in the offices, where residents can use medical devices for free and check basic indicators. In several offices, computers are being installed for independent access to socially significant websites and digital services, including "Gosuslugi," resources from the Social Fund, and job search services. Special attention is being paid to creating a barrier-free environment during modernization: ramps with handrails are being installed, call buttons for staff are being added, and doorways are being widened.
