Shifts in Nizhny Novgorod camps will be postponed due to flooding.
April 9, 2026 18:29 Society The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mikhail Puchkov, held a working meeting regarding the situation with flooded camps. Together with specialists from the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor, he discussed priority and additional measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety before the start of the summer health campaign. The head of the department reported this on his Max channel. According to the minister, all necessary measures are currently being taken to stabilize the situation and minimize the consequences of the flooding. In all affected camps, wells and water supply sources were promptly closed to prevent the ingress of meltwater, and electricity was also disconnected. Food products were moved to safe places. The water level has decreased by now. "At the time of the flooding, shifts in the camps were not being conducted, so there were no children on the premises. The shifts planned for April will be held on other dates, and all children have already been offered vouchers," he reported. The minister added that an expanded meeting with the directors of all children's health camps in the region is scheduled for Monday, April 13, where, together with representatives of Rospotrebnadzor, the preparation for the summer health campaign will be discussed in light of the current situation. It was previously reported that in Gorodets, the territories of the children's camps "Salyut" and named after Gutsiev, as well as the "Aurora" boarding house, were flooded. According to the latest data, the flood affected 27 municipal entities in the region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
