A number of streets in Nizhny Novgorod will be closed due to the Cross Procession on April 11-12.

      April 9, 2026 16:19 SocietyTraffic movement will be temporarily restricted in the center of Nizhny Novgorod due to the Cross Procession (0+) on April 11-12, the city transport department reported.

      From 20:00 on April 11 to 20:00 on April 12, traffic will be suspended:

       on Strelka Street — on the section from Samarkand to Sovnarkomovskaya;

       on Sovnarkomovskaya Street — from the parking lot at house No. 1b to the Volga Embankment;

       on the Volga Embankment — from Sovnarkomovskaya to Betancur Street;

       on the local passage of Samarkand Street — from house No. 4 on Strelka Street to house No. 1 on Sovnarkomovskaya;

       on local passages from Strelka Street to Sovnarkomovskaya Street.

      In addition, on April 12 from 9:00 to 20:00, traffic will be stopped on the following sections:

       Minin and Pozharsky Square — from Varvarskaya to Zelensky descent;

       Pokhvalinsky descent — from Malaya Pokrovskaya Street to Blagoveshchenskaya Square;

       Blagoveshchenskaya Square;

       Rozhdestvenskaya Street — from Narodnoye Yedinstvo Square to Blagoveshchenskaya Square;

       Narodnoye Yedinstvo Square;

       Zelensky descent;

       Shirokaya Street;

       Kanavinsky Bridge;

       Sovetskaya Street — from Ivan Romanov Street towards Lenin Square and from Lenin Square to Samarkand in both directions;

       Kerchenskaya Street — from Dolzhanskaya Street to house No. 5 on Sovnarkomovskaya Street;

       Samarkand Street — from Betancur Street to house No. 1 on Samarkand in the direction of Strelka Street.

      It was previously reported that the Cross Procession will start from the Archangel Cathedral in the Kremlin and will end at the Nevsky Cathedral on Strelka. Then, Metropolitan Georgy will bless a giant Easter cake and tsar-paskha. Everyone will be able to enjoy it.

      We also reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to buy farm products for Easter.
