The activities of a group of tax fraudsters in the Nizhny Novgorod region have been disrupted.

      April 7, 2026 13:17 Incidents The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have suppressed the activities of an organized group, the members of which are suspected of committing tax crimes. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk. The operation was carried out by employees of the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in conjunction with the "K" Department of the FSB of Russia. According to preliminary data, the group consisted of more than 200 people. They operated in 25 regions of the country, including the Nizhny Novgorod region. They manufactured and submitted knowingly false invoices and tax declarations to the tax authorities, using a network of Telegram channels, Telegram bots, and websites for this purpose. For their services, the participants received a reward of 2-3% of the sale amount indicated in the documents. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, their clients were hundreds of commercial organizations evading tax payments. The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 173.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of activities for the submission of knowingly false invoices and/or tax declarations (calculations) to the tax authorities of the Russian Federation"). Currently, measures are ongoing to identify all accomplices and uncover additional episodes of illegal activity.
