On April 3 in Nizhny Novgorod, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz refrigerated truck hit a pedestrian, resulting in death. The accident happened around 10:07 AM on Karl Marx Street in the Kanavinsky district, near house 44B. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the driver was exiting an adjacent territory and did not check whether it was safe to perform the maneuver. The pedestrian was crossing the road along the line of the sidewalk. As a result of the collision, the man sustained injuries incompatible with life.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the pedestrian's death. An investigation is underway.
