A new character from "The Simpsons" has appeared in the Student Quarter.

On March 31, 2026, at 10:49, Culture and Leisure: A new art object dedicated to the animated series "The Simpsons" (16+) has appeared on the facade of house No. 14/32 on Studenaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the ANO "ASIRIS."

Works featuring characters from the cult animated series have been appearing at this location since 2023. The first was a homage painting to the famous photograph of The Beatles: the Simpson family was crossing the "zebra" crossing. However, the canvas was cut from the frame.

Later, Bart Simpson appeared in the same frame with a sign on the board saying "I will not ruin other people's paintings." This work also soon disappeared. Then, an image of Lisa Simpson with a flying balloon was placed on the facade — a reference to Banksy's work "Love in the Bin." But it was also stolen.

Now, a new character has appeared in the frame — Nelson Muntz, the bully from Springfield Elementary, known for his nasal "Ha-ha." The ANO "ASIRIS" notes that behind the character's aggressive behavior lies a more sensitive nature, including a love for music.

"We can only speculate about what the change of paintings within the first frame means: regular vandalism or a prolonged statement by the artist," the organization noted.

It was previously reported that the Troitsky Quarter in the center of Nizhny Novgorod has been included in the register of cultural heritage sites.
