As reported by NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the Main Department of Highways of the region, the construction of the overpass as part of the transport interchange with the R-158 highway has already been completed at these stages. At the same time, work continues on other artificial structures — the construction of a bridge over a stream and another overpass is underway. Concurrently, the contractor is relocating engineering communications. On the sections of the second and third phases, asphalt concrete pavement has been laid with a total length of 7.4 km. In addition, specialists are reinforcing the slopes of the embankment, installing stormwater drainage, noise barriers, power supply systems, and carrying out related improvements. The overall construction readiness of the facility exceeds 45%. It should be noted that the project is being implemented under a concession signed in December 2023. The length of the new highway will be more than 12.3 km, and the construction is divided into four phases. The total investment is estimated at 64.4 billion rubles. The term of the agreement is 30 years and 9 months, of which 4.5 years are allocated directly for construction work. According to the terms of the concession agreement, the implementation of the fourth phase, which includes the construction of a bridge over the Oka River, will begin after attracting federal co-financing. Applications for inter-budget transfers for this most complex and capital-intensive stage have already been approved at a remote meeting of the interdepartmental commission for project selection. The project is included in the list of priorities. Currently, work is ongoing to obtain federal funds. The concessionaire plans to complete the second and third phases ahead of the original schedule. Initially, the commissioning of these sections was scheduled for the first quarter of 2029. It is now expected that traffic on the third phase will open by September 30, 2026, and on the second phase by June 30, 2027.
