March 20, 2026 16:41 Society At the age of 94, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor of the construction technology department of Nizhny Novgorod State Architectural and Civil Engineering University, Vladimir Voitovich, has passed away. This was reported by NNGASU.
Vladimir Voitovich was born on May 2, 1932, in Omsk. In 1954, he graduated from the chemistry faculty of Gorky State University, after which he was assigned as a teacher to the Gorky Engineering and Construction Institute, now NNGASU. His entire professional life—over 70 years—was connected with this university.
In 1972, he defended his candidate dissertation. The results of his scientific work laid the foundation for the development of sol-gel technology and nanotechnology in construction materials science.
For many years, Vladimir Voitovich taught in the departments of chemistry, labor protection and environmental safety, life safety, and in recent years—at the construction technology department. He was the author of numerous inventions and patents, a significant part of which was implemented in industrial production.

Among his developments are the primer VD-VA-01 GIS, produced at four factories, anti-corrosion compositions used in the construction of Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill and the "Okhotny Ryad" shopping center, the material EKR-22 for floor coverings, the thermal insulation "Kremnepor," recommended for nuclear power plants after the Chernobyl disaster, as well as the disinfectant "Demos."
In different years, he consulted on restoration works in the Moscow Kremlin, the Winter Palace, St. Andrew's Church in Kyiv, and Rundale Palace in Latvia. He participated in the construction of the building of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government and the restoration of the Arsenal in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. He headed state commissions for product certification for the Quality Mark and was a member of the All-Union Commission on Corrosion Inhibitors under the State Committee for Science and Technology of the USSR.
Farewell to Vladimir Voitovich will take place on March 21 at 12:45 in the mourning hall at the address: Nizhny Novgorod, Zaitseva Street, 27.
