A mass salary increase in the Nizhny Novgorod region is not planned for 2026: income growth will be targeted. First of all, professionals in shortage sectors—from the IT industry to manufacturing—can expect a raise. This forecast was given by HR experts specifically to RIA Novosti.
In the high-tech sector, experienced programmers remain the income leaders. According to last year’s results, their average earnings amounted to about 284 thousand rubles, and analysts are confident this figure will continue to grow. A similar situation exists for data scientists and machine learning engineers, whose work the market now values at 247 thousand rubles. Also on the list of in-demand personnel are financial analysts, managers and cybersecurity specialists.
A significant salary increase is also forecast for representatives of skilled trades. For example, the incomes of qualified turners and welders already reached 178–185 thousand rubles by the end of last year. Not far behind are long-haul truck drivers with an average earning of 182 thousand rubles, as well as crane operators and special machinery operators.
