The 19th Christmas Choral Assembly (0+) will be held on January 16 at the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky in Nizhny Novgorod.
According to the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese, this year choral ensembles from Moscow, Vladimir, Ryazan and Nizhny Novgorod will perform on the same stage. The program includes sacred music and festive Christmas works.
The assembly is held with the blessing of Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas. The organizers are the Department of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Department of Culture of the City Administration.
The director and principal conductor of the choral assembly will be Honored Worker of Culture and Arts of Nizhny Novgorod Ivan Stolnikov. Musical arrangements will be prepared by Kira Moleva.
The Christmas choral assembly starts at 15:00. Admission is free.
It should be noted that on the night of January 6 to 7, night services will be held in 92 churches in Nizhny Novgorod. The schedule of Christmas services can be viewed here.
