Yuri Shalabaev, the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, told reporters on December 30 about three city parks that are most in need of improvement.
First and foremost is Avtozavodsky Park. Design and estimate documentation has already been developed for it. Authorities are now looking for a suitable source and mechanism for financing.
"There is a very good project; we discussed it with the people of Avtozavod. It seems to me that it is even more extensive than the improvement of the 'Switzerland' Park," Shalabaev noted.
The preliminary estimate for the work in Avtozavodsky Park is about 4 billion rubles.
In addition to Avtozavodsky, Sormovsky Park is also slated for improvement, where a preliminary concept has already been created. Various implementation options are now being considered.
Work will also continue in the Park of the 777th Anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod in the Avtozavodsky district. The second phase is planned for next year, with funding included in the city budget.
Recall that the improvement project for Avtozavodsky Park in Nizhny Novgorod began to be prepared back in 2023. It was expected that the work itself would be completed by 2026. The project envisages a complete modernization of utility infrastructure, including replacement of communications. The park will also feature areas for quiet relaxation, sports grounds, and landscaping of the shoreline areas of the park's ponds.
Earlier it became known which festive events (0+) will take place in Nizhny Novgorod parks for the New Year.
