The City Center for Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical and Social Assistance in Nizhny Novgorod has officially been named after Vladimir Radchenko. The decision to perpetuate the memory of the former director of the Department of Education was announced on his Telegram channel by the city’s mayor, Yuri Shalabaev.
“Now the Center is fully functioning, alive, serving an important purpose. For this we worked with Vladimir Pavlovich Radchenko, who passed away this year. We decided to give the PPMS Center his name,” the mayor noted.
The old premises were fully restored some time ago: a major renovation was carried out and modern equipment for classes was purchased. Specialists help children cope with bullying at school, provide career guidance for adolescents, and work on correcting developmental disorders. Families can receive consultations from psychologists, speech therapists and special education teachers free of charge and in one place.
It should be noted that this is the first center of this kind in Nizhny Novgorod with such a broad range of functions. The institution operates on a “one-stop shop” principle, and in the future its branches should appear in all districts of the city. Thousands of families will be able to receive support here annually.
