Police are searching for a Nizhny Novgorod resident suspected of being involved in the theft of payments intended for participants of the special military operation.

      A native of Balakhna, Sergey Vladimirovich Shipulin, is wanted in connection with a criminal case concerning the theft of payments from participants in the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Recall that in November law enforcement detained members of interregional organized crime groups who were stealing payments intended for servicemen. They arranged sham marriages with SMO participants and also obtained powers of attorney to manage their finances. In total they unlawfully obtained more than 4 million rubles. Criminal cases were opened against eight residents of the region and a man who is accused of murder motivated by personal gain.

      During investigative actions and operational-search measures, the involvement of 51-year-old Sergey Shipulin from Balakhna in the activities of the organized criminal group was established. He has been declared wanted.
