      In Shakhunya, police detained a 36-year-old man suspected of attempting to sell a synthetic drug. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      On Komsomolskaya Street, police stopped a car for inspection. The passenger became nervous at the sight of the officers and tried to get rid of a small packet containing a white powdery substance, tossing it onto the back seat.

      The man was taken to the police station to clarify the circumstances. A forensic examination showed that the seized substance is a derivative of N-methylephedrone. The mass of the drug was 0.312 grams.

      The investigative department of the OMVD of Russia for the city of Shakhunya opened a criminal case. The actions of the previously convicted man have been qualified as an attempt to illegally sell narcotic drugs (Part 3 of Art. 30, Part 3 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The article's sanction provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years. The suspect was placed under a written undertaking not to leave the area and to observe proper behavior.

      Earlier it was reported that 159 packets of drugs were found with a stash runner in Nizhny Novgorod.
