Prices for tech products in the Russian Federation will inevitably rise next year, regardless of whether a technological levy is introduced or not. This was stated by Eldar Murtazin, owner and lead analyst of Mobile Research Group, in an interview with 360.ru.

The expert noted that discussions on introducing the technological levy are scheduled only for September 2026, and there are no concrete figures on its size yet. Preliminary estimates suggest the levy could be between 3% and 5%. This would lead to an increase in the cost of officially imported devices brought into Russia in compliance with all customs procedures by 4–6%.

Murtazin also emphasized that many factors influence pricing, including the economic situation, exchange rates and market demand. He expressed the view that the rise in prices for tech products will continue.

Regarding the future, the expert expressed doubts about the stability of the economic situation by autumn 2026 and suggested that prices could rise another 10–12% by that time.

In addition, Murtazin drew attention to a recent surge in purchases of devices in October of this year, especially household appliances. However, sales are now declining across all market segments. He suggested that in 2026, due to further price increases, the sales decline could remain at around 20% compared with the previous year.
