The former head of Nizhny Novgorod's Control and Accounts Chamber filed a lawsuit against the city Duma.

      Former chair of the Control and Accounts Chamber of Nizhny Novgorod, Yulia Abyzova, is attempting to challenge her dismissal in court. A lawsuit has been filed in the Dzerzhinsky City Court, where the plaintiff is registered.

      The defendants in the case are the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma and the commission for monitoring compliance with restrictions and prohibitions for persons holding municipal office. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 20 November 2025.

      Abyzova is seeking to have declared invalid the decisions on the basis of which she was relieved of her post. The session that approved her dismissal took place on 24 September 2025. The reason for the early dismissal was a submission from the prosecutor’s office alleging violations of anti-corruption legislation.

      Anatoly Nuzhdin became the new chair of the Control and Accounts Chamber of Nizhny Novgorod.
