Experienced Nizhny Novgorod pharmacists are being denied accreditation en masse.

      Pharmacists with many years of experience across Russia, including the Nizhny Novgorod region, are facing mass refusals of accreditation. This was reported on his Telegram channel by medical expert Alexey Nikonov.

      According to him, the Federal Accreditation Center (FAC) most often denies specialists with extensive experience because of discrepancies in the entries in their employment record books. It is often impossible to correct the documents, as many pharmacies where the pharmacists worked have long since closed and been legally liquidated.

      As a result, pharmacists with 20–25 years of experience are forced to confirm their qualifications through lengthy retraining or leave the profession altogether, worsening the sector’s staff shortage.

      The FAC cites strict adherence to regulatory documents, but in the professional community such explanations were regarded as formal.

      The main reasons cited for the refusals are legal contradictions in document assessment, mismatch of job titles with the nomenclature of the Russian Ministry of Health, and double interpretation of a number of pharmaceutical specialties.

      Ways out of the crisis are planned to be discussed on November 18 at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The Alliance of Pharmaceutical Associations has already proposed introducing a personnel “amnesty” for pharmacists affected by bureaucratic inconsistencies.

      Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod region became a participant in a pilot program to launch mobile pharmacies that will serve remote and rural areas.
