A resident of Zavolzhye robbed his neighbor at knifepoint.

      04 November 2025 12:42 Incidents. In Zavolzhye, police detained a man suspected of committing an armed robbery against a neighbor with a knife. The details were reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

      A report of an armed robbery was received by the duty unit of the Gorodetsky municipal department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The complainant was a 47-year-old resident of Zavolzhye. He said that an assailant, threatening him with a knife, entered his apartment and stole property.

      Detectives from the criminal investigation unit quickly identified and detained the suspected attacker. He turned out to be a 29-year-old neighbor of the victim who lived in an apartment on the same landing. The man had previously been prosecuted for robbery and theft. A search of his home uncovered and seized the stolen items: a mobile phone, headphones and a game console.

      A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery). The suspect has been remanded in custody.

      The stolen devices have been returned to the owner. If found guilty by a court, the suspect could face a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

      Earlier, it was reported that a young man with a pistol had taken a Nizhny Novgorod resident's BMW worth 13 million rubles.
