      A billiards tournament was held in Nizhny Novgorod for the cup of the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Lieutenant General of Justice Ayrat Akhmetshin, in memory of the founder and first head of the Main Directorate for Forensics of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Yuri Lekanov.

      At the billiards table, employees of the regional Investigative Directorate, the Central Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the Third Investigative Directorate of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Protective Service (FSO), the Federal Tax Service (FTS), the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP), the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia (EMERCOM), the National Guard (Rosgvardiya), the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) and the FTS for the Nizhny Novgorod Region met.

      At the tournament all players demonstrated a high level of play, skill, accuracy, strategic thinking and a strong will to win, as well as the ability to execute complex and exciting combinations.

      The winner of the tournament was operative officer of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes (UBEPiPK) of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yevgeny Makarov. Second place went to the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sultan Khatsukov. Third place was taken by the head of the Central Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Perepelitsyn.

      The head of the regional Investigative Directorate, Ayrat Akhmetshin, together with the manager of Sberbank’s Nizhny Novgorod branch, Natalya Demina, presented cups and gifts to all the prize-winners.
