More than 4,000 tons of substandard seeds were detected in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Since the beginning of this year, specialists from Rosselkhoznadzor have recorded 230 cases of violations in the field of seed production in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The press service of the agency, which oversees the region and the Republic of Mari El, reported this.

      During an analysis of reporting documentation on the write-off of seed material volumes, inspectors identified serious deviations from established requirements. According to the data obtained, farmers in the region used more than 4,000 tons of seed without supporting documents.

      This concerns 1,767 tons of varietal and 2,947 tons of non-varietal seed of crops such as wheat, potatoes, barley, peas and corn. At the same time, the producers did not have the necessary documents confirming the quality and origin of the seed.

      Following the inspections, Rosselkhoznadzor sent 230 official warnings to agricultural organizations. Of these, 110 notifications were prepared and sent via the federal state information system "Semenovodstvo."

      Earlier it was reported that low-quality dairy products were found in schools and kindergartens of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
