      Nizhny Novgorod writer Zakhar Prilepin, prematurely discharged from service after being wounded, plans to return to the zone of the special military operation in November 2025. He said this in an interview with TASS.

      Recall, Prilepin decided to resume military service several months ago. The writer was discharged after an assassination attempt in the spring of 2023. On May 6, the car in which he and his comrade Alexander Shubin were traveling was blown up in Bor. Zakhar Prilepin survived, but he faced a long period of treatment and recovery, and Shubin was killed.

      According to the public figure, the military service contract has already been signed. The writer explained his decision — he “caught himself on his word” while discussing the possibility of returning to the SVO. In addition, Zakhar Prilepin thought about the future and the meaning of his life if he continued only “churning out books.” The deaths of comrades and fighters from his unit also played a role.

      “The claw still scratches anyway. Try, at least try, make some attempts, to bring this to some kind of logical finish,” the writer reasons.
