An elevator carrying a 19-year-old woman fell at the Dzerzhinsky shopping center.

      An incident involving an elevator occurred at the Soyuz shopping center in Dzerzhinsk. According to the regional EMERCOM press service, a 19-year-old woman was descending from the fifth or sixth floor when the car suddenly began to plummet.

      The emergency system activated in time — the safety catches stopped the elevator between the third and fourth floors, preventing it from falling further.

      Six EMERCOM rescuers promptly arrived at the scene. Rescuers opened the blocked doors and freed the woman who had become trapped. She was given first aid and handed over to medical personnel. After being examined, the injured woman was taken to hospital for further tests.

      According to preliminary information, the woman's life is not in danger. The cause of the elevator malfunction is being determined.

      Earlier it was reported that a woman from Nizhny Novgorod sustained a spinal injury after an elevator fell in one of the high-rise buildings on Hero Popov Street.
