Submissions are now open for the 2nd annual Nikita Tsitsagi Prize.

Submissions have opened for the 2nd annual NEWS.ru journalism award named after Nikita Tsitsaga, "A Look Through the Heart," writes NEWS.ru. Journalists and creative teams from media outlets registered in Russia are invited to participate. The award winner will be announced by December 31, 2025. They will receive 300,000 rubles.

"The main goal of our profession is not just to tell stories, but to bring them to people's hearts. Nikita had an incredible reporting talent, produced excellent texts and photos, and could reach any reader. To keep the memory of our friend alive and to show the noble side of journalism, we decided to establish the award and make it annual," said the publication's editor-in-chief, Olga Saburova.

Entries will be accepted that reveal key public events through the stories of people who have faced difficult life circumstances for reasons beyond their control. The focus should be on the consequences of man-made disasters, natural catastrophes, military or political conflicts. It is important that materials were published between October 20, 2024 and October 20, 2025. This year's jury includes the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, TASS CEO Andrey Kondrashov, member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Yulia Belekhova, war correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda Alexander Kots, human rights activist Eva Merkacheva, VGTRK war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny, and NEWS.ru editor-in-chief Olga Saburova.

Applications are accepted until December 10, 2025. Submission rules can be viewed via the link. The award was established in memory of Nikita Tsitsaga, a NEWS.ru correspondent who died on June 16, 2024 near Uglodar while preparing a report on the lives of monks during the special military operation.
