      Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin congratulated road sector workers on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on October 19. In his address he also thanked industry veterans.

      The head of the region emphasized that the work of specialists in the development and improvement of road infrastructure is of particular importance to the region. According to him, the condition of both major highways and small access roads affects people’s quality of life, the efficiency of the economy, and labor productivity.

      Nikitin noted that the Nizhny Novgorod Region has more than 13,000 kilometers of regional roads, and stretches of three federal highways run through it.

      He noted that road workers make a significant contribution by renewing road surfaces both in remote settlements and in administrative centers. Thanks to their work, territories remain accessible, goods are delivered on time, and specialized machinery, ambulances, and school buses can pass.

      “You demonstrate high professionalism and complete dedication at every stage of your work,” the governor said.

      He added that the application of modern technologies, quality design, and the use of improved types of pavement make it possible to create roads that will serve people for many years.

      The head of the region also said that in 2025 more than 700 kilometers of roads and bridges will be renovated in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Major road works of the current season are nearing completion, and preparations for the next year are already underway as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

      Nikitin expressed confidence that the development of road infrastructure is in reliable hands. He wished industry workers new achievements, happiness, and health.

      “On this professional holiday I wish you to move toward success not only along well‑trodden roads, but also to boldly forge new paths!” the governor said.
