The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered a careful review of an appeal from a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region concerning violations in the provision of medical care to her. The press service of the law enforcement agency reported this.
The woman, who suffers from diabetes, submitted a statement to the head of the IC's online reception. In the appeal she said that for a prolonged period she had been provided with the necessary medication to maintain a stable blood sugar level. However, according to her, in October the supply of the life‑saving drug was stopped.
The applicant also indicated that since February she has not received consumables for the medical equipment she uses. Appeals to various government bodies, she said, have yielded no results.
Bastrykin ordered a procedural check to be carried out and a report on its findings to be submitted. Control over the execution of the order has been entrusted to the central office of the Investigative Committee.
Recall that in the Nizhny Novgorod region patients with severe and chronic illnesses have gained access to an expanded list of free medicines. Read here which medicines were added to the list and how to obtain them.
It was also reported that more than 10.5 million rubles were allocated for medicines for Nizhny Novgorod residents with severe allergies.
