Necrophile Moskvin, who made dolls from children's bodies, is being prepared for discharge.

      Russia’s best-known necropolist, Nizhny Novgorod resident Anatoly Moskvin, who is nicknamed "the Dollmaker," could be released from the psychiatric hospital as early as November. The man who turned the bodies of deceased girls into "dolls" was declared dangerous 13 years ago. Now doctors believe he no longer poses a threat to society.

      Since 2012 Moskvin has been under compulsory treatment at Psychiatric Hospital No. 2. According to the Telegram channel Shot, medical staff are preparing documents to file with the court. The aim is to transfer the patient to the guardianship of relatives.

      Despite being declared legally incapacitated, Moskvin’s condition has noticeably deteriorated. According to a source, he almost does not move on his own, speaks with difficulty, and his eyesight has greatly weakened. The diagnosis given by doctors is paranoid schizophrenia.

      Moskvin’s interest in death manifested in childhood. In one interview he said that at 13 the mother of a deceased girl who was part of a sect forced him to kiss her body. According to the man, this incident deeply affected his psyche.

      The "necromancer" was detained in 2011. Police found 28 mummified bodies of girls in his apartment — bodies Moskvin had been digging up from cemeteries for years. He claimed he did this because he dreamed of having a daughter and was creating "dolls" from the bodies.

      The court found him insane and ordered compulsory treatment, where Moskvin remains to this day.
