
Nizhny Novgorod residents will spend more than 3,000 rubles on gifts for Teacher's Day.

On the eve of Teacher's Day, the SuperJob service studied Russians' attitudes toward the holiday and parents' willingness to congratulate their children's teachers. The survey included economically active people, among them parents of schoolchildren from Nizhny Novgorod.
It turned out that in Nizhny Novgorod the average budget for a gift to the class teacher this year will be 3,100 rubles. For comparison: in 2024, 2,900 rubles were allocated for these purposes, and in 2023 — 2,400 rubles.
Across the country, the average amount that classes plan to spend on congratulating the class teacher reaches 4,100 rubles, which is 5% higher than a year ago. Among the metropolises by budget size Moscow leads with 4,900 rubles; it is followed by St. Petersburg (4,000 rubles) and Yekaterinburg (3,500 rubles).
The most common gift option remains flowers (62% of responses). Bouquets are often complemented with gift certificates (22%) and sweet sets or baskets (14%). Envelopes with money (5%) and stationery (3%) are given much less frequently. Among other ideas respondents named cosmetics and perfume, theater tickets, books, as well as appliances and electronics for classroom needs.
It was previously reported that the Nizhny Novgorod city hall is prepared to spend 12 million rubles on New Year's gifts for children.
