A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region will have to pay more than 1.9 million rubles for damage to nature. The Avtozavodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod made this decision on a suit filed by Rosprirodnadzor. This was reported by the agency's press service.
As early as 2022 inspectors found an illegal dump in the village of Krutaya in the Kstovo district. Under the power lines behind the houses, construction waste and soil had accumulated. The inspection showed that the contaminated area exceeded 537 "squares". Environmental experts calculated that the damage amounted to millions of rubles.
At first responsibility was placed on the district administration, since the land was listed as state property. But during the proceedings it became clear who had actually created the dump. It turned out to be a resident of the settlement of Zhdanovsky.
Now the man is obliged to fully compensate the damage. The money will go to the budget of the Kstovo district, where the damage was caused.

A new fraud scheme is spreading in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Scammers are deceiving residents of the region on behalf of the tax service. This was reported by the regional office of the Federal Tax Service.
Scammers contact taxpayers and say that it is necessary to come to the tax office for income registration or an inspection. Then the fraudsters offer to supposedly help book an appointment and send an SMS with a code. In this way the criminals gain access to personal data.
The regional FTS office explained that the agency does not register citizens by phone and does not request personal information. Appointments with the tax authorities are made through the official website.
