An exhibition opened within the walls of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin featuring unique finds from search teams operating in the Volga Federal District (0+). According to "NTA-Privolzhye", the display includes items discovered during field outings in areas of military activity from the Great Patriotic War.
Young members of search movements presented helmets, army flasks, hand grenades, compasses, as well as an unusual chess set made from shell casings. These artifacts became part of a large-scale exhibition that collected materials from all regions of the Volga Federal District.
Particular attention was drawn to a stand organized by Nizhny Novgorod searchers. It included helmets and sapper shovels found in the village of Ramushki in Novgorod Oblast. According to the participants themselves, that is where they managed to find the most artifacts, since the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast suffered less destruction during the war years.
The exhibition was visited by Oleg Mashkovtsev, deputy plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District. He noted that young people’s interest in historical memory has noticeably increased — the number of participants in search teams has grown from five to more than 11,000 people.
According to him, search work is not limited to expeditions. Many participants create museums, research the fates of fallen soldiers, and help families find information about missing relatives.
"This is not just the preservation of history — it is the restoration of the names of heroes, it is personal and collective memory," Mashkovtsev emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that a traveling exhibition "Home Front Heroes. Pages of Memory" opened in Dalny Konstantinov (12+).
