The Ministry of Education explained why "Lazurny" refused a Nizhny Novgorod Olympiad contestant.

      A schoolgirl from the Nizhny Novgorod region who received a voucher for winning an olympiad was not admitted to the state camp "Lazurny". The reason for the refusal was her age — by the time of arrival the girl had already turned 16.

      The session called "Architects of Reality", dedicated to diplomacy and communication, was intended for children aged 6.5 to 15. The girl's parents say that she received a cold reception at the camp, was forced out of her room and was not allowed to leave the infirmary until her parents arrived.

      The Ministry of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod region told NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" that an error was made when distributing 367 vouchers, since the voucher was nevertheless issued to the schoolgirl who had turned 16 three months before the start of the session.

      The organizers apologized to the family. They also noted that upon arrival the child was provided with lunch and dinner in accordance with the camp schedule.

      The ministry clarified that after dinner the girl's father arrived, and at 19:10 they left the camp grounds.

      Earlier it was reported that the wrong audio file was played to Dzerzhinsk schoolchildren during the OGE.
