A program for volunteer leaders has started in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, together with KUPNO, has launched an educational program for volunteers as part of the project “Corporate University of Volunteering of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.” The training will last one month, and registration to participate is open until October 3, 2025.

      The program is aimed at developing professional skills among leaders of volunteer organizations in the region. It includes three key modules: “PRO Team” — on building effective teamwork and communications; “PRO You” — on creating a volunteer’s personal brand and interacting with the media; and “PRO Skills” — practical sessions that help participants become specialists in the field of volunteering.

      Upon completion of the course all participants will receive diplomas, and the 15 most active and productive participants will receive certificates of advanced training in the prescribed form.

      Maria Samodelkina, General Director of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted: “Our main task is to give volunteers not just theory, but real tools for growth and more effective work. The program is built on three key pillars that determine true success: a strong team, a recognizable personal brand, and concrete practical skills. This is a story about doing good not only from the heart, but also with the mind — effectively, sustainably, and visibly to society. And most importantly — we are creating a space for the emergence of new leaders. Those who will be able to lead, generate ideas and implement them at a high level. I am sure that the graduates of this intensive will become a real personnel reserve and a driver of positive change for the entire Nizhny Novgorod volunteering community.”

      The project is being implemented with the support of the regional government and corresponds to the goals of the federal project “We Are Together,” which is part of the national project “Youth and Children.” Recall that in 2025 the national project “Youth and Children” began operating in Russia by order of President Vladimir Putin. It merged tasks previously provided for in the national projects “Education” and “Science and Universities.”

      The aim of the national project is to create conditions for the development of talents and the self-realization of young people, as well as to foster responsible and moral citizens. Within its framework, schools are being built and repaired, teachers’ qualifications are being improved, new teaching methods are being introduced, and a comfortable educational environment is being created. Special attention is paid to supporting talented young professionals.

      The national project includes nine federal programs, including “Russia — a Land of Opportunities,” “We Are Together,” “Russia in the World,” “All the Best for Children,” “Leading Schools,” “Teachers and Mentors,” “Creating a Network of Modern Campuses,” “Universities for a Generation of Leaders,” and “Professionalitet.” Support for volunteer activities is provided under the federal project “We Are Together,” whose goal is to organize volunteer work with the help of state support.

      Projects requiring volunteers are available on the platform dobro.ru. In addition, newcomers can undergo training within the “Dobro.University” program. The International #WEARETOGETHER Award is also held annually to draw attention to the work of volunteers. It can be awarded to the authors of social initiatives aimed at helping people and improving quality of life.
