      Medical institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region are beginning to prepare in advance for a possible wave of influenza. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Stacionar-press."

      According to him, as early as next week hospitals will begin issuing orders to introduce a mask mandate. Visits to hospitalized patients are also planned to be restricted. This is being done as part of preventive measures to avoid a widespread outbreak.

      He emphasized that the specifics of the epidemiological regime may differ between institutions, so residents are advised to check the current rules at their specific hospital.

      Earlier it was reported that an increase in acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in the Nizhny Novgorod region is expected by the end of September. At present, five general education schools and three kindergartens in the Nizhny Novgorod region have been completely closed for quarantine due to viral illnesses.
