      Late on the evening of September 25, a fatal road traffic accident occurred in the Gorodetsky District.

      According to the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the tragedy took place at the 41st kilometer of the Linda–Gorodets–Zavolzhye highway, near the village of Povalikhino.

      According to preliminary information, a man was lying on the roadway in an unlit section of the road. The first driver, who was driving a Lada Vesta, noticed the person and managed to drive around him. However, the foreign-made car following behind, a SsangYong, was unable to stop in time and struck him.

      The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Police are now investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that an elderly woman from Nizhny Novgorod had died on a crosswalk after being hit by a VAZ.
