At the end of September – beginning of October, warm and sunny weather is expected to return to the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by senior specialist of the Phobos weather center, Evgeny Tishkovets.
According to him, 25 temperature records were recorded in Russia at the beginning of the week, but the North Atlantic cyclone "Bernward" brought a cold atmospheric front that will replace the warm weather with autumnal coolness, and in some places even snow.
On Wednesday, in the rear of the cyclone there will be cloudiness with clearings, and light rain is possible in places. Temperatures at night will be +5…+8 °C, around +10 °C during the day. Deterioration of conditions is expected on the night to Thursday: downpours and wet snow are possible.
Tishkovets explained that in the cold rear of the cyclone there will be short-term precipitation on Thursday. At night temperatures will fall to +1…+4 °C, and in places light wet snow may mix with the rain, which will melt immediately and be barely noticeable. During the day the air will warm to +8…+11 °C.
On Friday, thanks to the influence of the eastern flank of the anticyclone, the weather will temporarily improve: in the morning +2…+5 °C, in the afternoon up to +11…+14 °C.
Over the weekend the temperature will remain roughly the same, but conditions will worsen slightly — the air will warm to no more than +12…+13 °C.
A significant warming is forecast from Monday, 29 September. A large Scandinavian anticyclone will move over the Russian Plain and will linger for 5–7 days. According to the forecaster, Central Russia will see sunny and dry weather, with light or no wind. At night temperatures will fall to +3…+8 °C, and daytime temperatures will reach +13…+18 °C.
Tishkovets noted that this will be a true, old-fashioned Indian summer with a golden autumn.
It is worth noting that the heating season began in Nizhny Novgorod on 23 September.
