The Mixed-Breed Dog Festival "Breed Doesn't Matter for Friendship" will be held at the city zoo center "Nadezhda" on September 21.

      On September 21 at 10:00 a festival of mixed-breed dogs titled "Breed Doesn't Matter for Friendship" will be held at the city zoo center "Nadezhda" on the arena of the equestrian riding hall. This was reported by the Department of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration.

      According to specialists, the festival is aimed at fostering animal culture among the younger generation, promoting responsible attitudes toward pets, and helping to find loving owners for homeless dogs.

      "As part of the festival, the zoo center's pupils together with their four-legged friends will demonstrate their skills and abilities, various tricks and obedience achievements in the 'Ring Star' contest. Guests of the event will be able to charge up on positive emotions and enjoy an atmosphere of friendship and love for animals. At the contest-exhibition 'Breed Doesn't Matter for Friendship' registered participants will walk the ring with their dogs and tell about them. The jury will evaluate not only the pets' appearance but also how strong the contact is between the dog and its owner," the department noted.

      In addition, an online campaign "Take a Friend from the Shelter" will present information with photographs of homeless animals. Everyone interested will be able to learn more about their fates and perhaps decide to take one of them into their family. Experienced canine specialists will help to understand the features of adapting homeless animals to a new environment.

      Free consultations from canine specialists, groomers and veterinarians will be available to all event guests, where they can ask questions of interest and receive useful advice.

      The organizers of the event are the city zoo center "Nadezhda", the municipal center "Nadezhda", the Department of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration and the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Public Organization Cynological Center "Sobakovod".
