Society. Nizhny Novgorod polyclinics appealed to residents to be responsible when requesting a doctor to come to their home and reminded them in which cases such assistance is truly necessary. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Bokal presseka."
Medical institutions in the region emphasized that a visit by a doctor or feldsher to the home is justified only for certain symptoms and conditions.
You can call a doctor if a high body temperature (above 38°C) persists in combination with pronounced weakness. In addition, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea are also reasons to summon a medical professional to the home.
Other conditions for which a doctor should be called include signs of acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) or influenza during the seasonal illness period, skin rashes of unclear origin, and a sudden rise in blood pressure accompanied by a deterioration in well‑being (headache, nausea, vomiting).
Furthermore, a call to the clinic to send a doctor to the home is justified by exacerbations of chronic diseases, severe courses of oncological diseases, and the need to provide assistance to people with limited mobility. This list also includes calls transferred from the ambulance service.
When arranging a visit, doctors will ask Nizhny Novgorod residents to report the presence of pets. Large dogs should be isolated — fitted with a muzzle, kept on a leash, or placed in a separate room.
It is important to ensure the doctor has free and safe access to the patient. At the time of the visit it is recommended to turn off the TV, computer games, and music.
It should be noted that medical workers do not remove their shoes and do not use shoe covers during home visits.
Sick leave may be denied if the patient is intoxicated with alcohol or drugs, or there are signs of such conditions from the previous day.
Also, a body temperature below 37.5°C is not a reason to call a doctor. In that case the patient should independently go to the clinic and be examined in the "red zone."
Earlier it was reported that SMS notifications to relatives of intensive care patients began in Dzerzhinsk.
