      The Sormovsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Nizhny Novgorod has approved an indictment in the criminal case against the former principal of School No. 117, where two teenagers were injured in a knife incident.

      As the press service of the supervisory authority reported, the former head of the educational institution is accused of actions by an official that exceeded her authority and resulted in a violation of citizens’ rights, committed with the causing of serious consequences, in relation to a minor.

      According to the investigation, while serving as principal, from September 2024 to March 2025 she failed to develop and approve, in the prescribed manner, regulations on access control and internal on-site regimes, and also ordered the metal detectors at the school entrance to be removed.

      As a result of these unlawful actions, one of the students was able to bring a knife into the building and on March 11, 2025 inflict stab-and-cut wounds on two classmates, causing minor injuries. His actions were stopped, and the victims received medical assistance in a timely manner.

      Recall that immediately after the stabbing the school’s principal was suspended from her duties. The 14-year-old teenager was placed under house arrest. The criminal investigation against him has been completed; he will be tried soon.
