"The Nizhny Novgorod Region Resident Card" can now be used as a pass for FOKs (physical culture and wellness centers) and other sports facilities in the region. The card serves as an identifier allowing residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to confirm their right to preferential access. Beneficiary categories of citizens entitled to free admission to sports facilities will be automatically registered in the "Resident Card" system. Visitors without benefits will be able to use the card as a regular pass.
"The availability of the 'Resident Card' frees Nizhny Novgorod residents from the need to carry a huge number of cards. The 'Resident Card' includes transport and bank cards, a travel pass, school or university passes, and now also a pass to sports facilities. To date, 32 sports facilities have already joined the program. By the end of the year we plan to increase their number to 76. In the future the number of program partners will certainly continue to grow," said Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yegor Polyakov.
Minister of Sport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Kabaylo emphasized that systematic work is underway in the region on the digitalization of physical culture and sport. "We are installing access control and management systems in sports facilities, and together with the region's Ministry of Digital Development we are developing a unified aggregator of sports facilities. This is important both for ensuring visitor safety and for effective oversight of the operation of sports institutions, for obtaining accurate statistical data that will form the basis for organizational and managerial decisions. Expanding the capabilities of the 'Resident Card' to use it for access to sports facilities is, without doubt, a huge plus for residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," noted Minister of Sport Dmitry Kabaylo.
"To purchase a subscription or any other service, a user simply needs to log in to the 'Resident Card' portal via Gosuslugi, then select the specific service. If the person is entitled to benefits, they will immediately see that the benefit has been applied. Then they need to submit an application to purchase a ticket, which will be sent to the sports facility where it will be processed by an operator. If required, for example to visit the swimming pool, the user will need to bring health certificates to the FOK or another organization. After that, they will be able to use the 'Resident Card' as a pass at the facility's turnstiles," explained Vitaly Klimashov, director of the State Autonomous Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Center for Coordination of Digital Economy Projects."
The "Resident Card" already provides a 5 percent discount on visits to the Nizhny Novgorod Puppet Theater, on funicular rides, and discounts at a number of the project's commercial partner institutions.
