      Incidents

      A bus driver became the victim of a brazen attack in the Moskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      On Lesnoy Gorodok Street a man suddenly ran up to the vehicle holding a pistol. He pointed the weapon at the driver and demanded money. Under threat of violence the assailant took one thousand rubles from the cash register and fled.

      The 32-year-old driver immediately reported the incident to the police. Operatives were dispatched to the scene and quickly established the suspect’s identity.

      He turned out to be a 56-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod. The man is unemployed and has prior convictions. During his arrest a traumatic pistol, which according to the investigation he used to commit the attack, was seized from him.

      A criminal case has been opened against him under the charge of "Robbery." He is currently in custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

      Earlier it was reported that police detained a drunk Nizhny Novgorod resident who was speeding around the city at night.
