The head of the culture department of the administration of Knyaginin District, Vadim Atopshev, will be suspended from performing his official duties pending an investigation, the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government reported.
Earlier, in a segment of the program “Kstati,” they published a clip from the concert for City Day in Knyaginino. A slightly intoxicated local climbed onto the stage and began to dance. He was shoved off by a person resembling Vadim Atopshev. The man fell from the stage onto a 10-year-old girl, and she broke her leg.
Journalists showed the video to employees of the local administration, but they did not recognize their colleague. Although local residents stated that the person in the footage is indeed the head of the culture department. “The administration of the Knyaginin municipal district has appointed and is conducting an internal investigation into the incident; during this time two employees, including the head of the culture department, will be suspended from performing their official duties,” the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government said.
According to a source, the family of the girl who suffered the fracture will be provided with assistance. The police are currently looking into the situation. The administration employees who were responsible for preparing the concert will be held accountable.
