Nizhny Novgorod tram No. 2 will run on a shortened route in September.

      Tram route No. 2 in Nizhny Novgorod may be partially restored as early as September. This was reported by representatives of the Center for Transport Systems Development on social media, responding to a query from one of the city's residents.

      According to the published information, trams will begin running on a shortened route — to Maslyakov Street.

      Full restoration of traffic on the city's tram loop is expected by the end of 2025 after track reconstruction work is completed.

      However, the timeline for replacing the rails may change due to parallel works — the construction of a terraced park in the Pochainsky ravine and the replacement of the stormwater drainage system.

      It was previously reported that three tram routes in Nizhny Novgorod would change from September 1. It was also announced that the tram loop on Ivliev Street in Nizhny Novgorod is scheduled for repair in 2026.
