The staffing shortage persists at the Nizhny Novgorod State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. This was reported by the head of the regional department, Vladimir Yezhov, at a press conference at NOIC on July 30.
According to him, thanks to measures taken by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, it has been possible to stop the outflow of staff. In particular, monthly supplements of 10,000 rubles were introduced.
Nevertheless, the understaffing rate is 16.1%. This is nearly 2% lower than the regional indicator for 2024 but higher than the nationwide figure of 15%.
The head of the department noted that the higher deficit in the region is related to a developed economy offering alternative, higher-paying employment options.
Vladimir Yezhov added that young employees continue to join the traffic police, choosing service not only for material support but also due to personal calling.
It was previously reported that in the first half of 2025, the number of road traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities increased in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
