Games, theatrical performance, and foam disco: "Neptune Day" was celebrated in the Nizhny Novgorod region with "United Russia."

      Society The traditional Neptune Day for the fifth time united residents of Bor and city guests. The festive venue was the Prova boat station in Bor. Organizers prepared a rich cultural program for participants: fun competitions, games of chance, and engaging master classes.

      "Neptune Day is a wonderful celebration that we all remember from childhood. But few know that its roots go deep into the past. The tradition of splashing water and passing humorous tests existed even in the era when ships were powered by wind. When crossing the equator, sailors held a noisy and cheerful celebration. Our event undoubtedly matches in brightness and eventfulness. I believe both children and adults will enjoy it greatly. Most importantly, they will spend this day together. In our time, such moments are precious for any family," shared Dmitry Filipenko, head of the regional executive committee of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the United Russia party.

      The celebration was organized by SK "Medved'" with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of United Russia, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Igor Gordeyev, MBU DO Center for Children's and Youth Tourism and Excursions of the Bor urban district, and the Department of Education and Youth Policy of the Bor administration.

      "The holiday started as an intra-club event. Neptune Day was held for children involved in our sports sections: wrestling, hand-to-hand combat, rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, football, and others. Over several years, the event has grown to an interregional level. People come from all over the region; guests even arrive from Moscow and St. Petersburg," said Alexey Golubin.

      The entertainment program included athletic competitions, show performances, master classes, and face painting. The climax of the celebration was the appearance of the Water Lord – Neptune. The procession was accompanied by a bright theatrical performance.

      "The most memorable part was the foam party, dancing, and fun. I was given a balloon by a kind bear, and then Neptune himself arrived straight from the sea, just like Santa Claus! He congratulated us on summer and treated us to the tastiest porridge," shared nine-year-old Valery Gromov.

      Special aandacht was given to children at the celebration. For the little guests, event partners prepared a true gastronomic journey. Treats were equally popular among all guests.

      "I really liked the ice cream. And I was painted too, now I am a real fox! My grandma and I enjoyed playing sea battle; it was very interesting. We became like a team," shared seven-year-old Irina Lazareva.

      "Neptune Day" welcomed guests from early morning until late evening. Several hundred people attended the event. Organizers plan to continue the tradition next year.

      Let us remind you that establishing a system of support measures for families with children is a priority of the "United Russia" people's program and the party project "Strong Family." As part of this program, social support measures are constantly being improved, and new formats are emerging.
