      A serious fatal accident occurred on the morning of July 20 on Lenin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod.

      According to regional traffic police, a 26-year-old driver of a Chery Tiggo vehicle, belonging to a car-sharing service, drove into oncoming traffic, then onto the sidewalk where pedestrians were present. One of them managed to jump aside, while a 35-year-old man was struck by the car. He died at the scene from his injuries before medical assistance arrived.

      After the collision, the vehicle continued its movement and crashed into a tree, then into the facade of a residential building. The driver was detained by police officers. Operational reports indicate that the man was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

      All details of the tragedy are being established.

      Recall that at the end of June, on Beketova Street, an accident caused one of the vehicles to be thrown onto a bus stop. As a result, a 25-year-old woman and another woman died at the scene. Later, a girl injured in the accident died in the hospital.
