The All-Russian event "Running Book-2026" will take place at Avtozavod on September 1.

August 18, 2026 15:16 Poster For the seventh consecutive year, the team of librarians from the Avtozavodsky district is participating in the intellectual race "Running Book" (0+). The idea for this unique and extraordinary event was born several years ago in the "Rosatom" libraries. At that time, the event involved only those cities and towns that had libraries under the patronage of the state corporation. Now, it has been held for the 10th year in a row and unites over 4,200 library institutions of various profiles across 82 subjects of the Russian Federation. Over the years, more than 720,000 librarians, volunteers, and book lovers have participated in its intellectual routes in more than 1,500 large and small cities and rural areas. The essence of the event is as follows: librarians set off along a pre-developed route through streets, squares, alleys, parks, and gardens. They ask passersby questions to test their erudition. Each race is dedicated to a specific theme or event, which the questions are related to. For a correct answer, the respondent receives an interesting book, a small souvenir, or an invitation to the library. Each year, the themes of the race differ and are tied to major events in the country. For example, in 2026, the 225th anniversary of the birth of the creator of the "Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language," Vladimir Dahl, will be celebrated. Book runners will ask respondents of all ages questions about Dahl's work on the main work of his life, the mysteries of the Russian language, the etymology of words, and their deep meanings. The symbol of the Autumn Library Race on Knowledge Day will be a bell. The book runners will start on September 1 at 12:00 from the main district library - the Library and Leisure Center (Prospect Molodezhny, 44 b). The route will pass along one of the main avenues of the district - Prospect Molodezhny, and the intellectual race will conclude in the Culture and Recreation Park of the Avtozavodsky district.
