The updated building is already receiving biological material for research. The project was implemented as part of the regional "Health Quarter," the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod region government reported. The cost of the renovation work amounted to about 230 million rubles, while another 85 million was spent on equipment. Samples are received in the laboratory after surgeries and biopsies from hospitals in Nizhny Novgorod and the region. Here, specialists examine tissues and help doctors clarify diagnoses. Many processes are now automated. This has reduced manual labor, decreased the likelihood of errors, and significantly sped up the research process. Doctors also received a histoscanner: it converts images of biological material into digital format. Now slides do not need to be physically sent to experts – results can be quickly transmitted to colleagues for remote consultation. Among the laboratory's partners are leading federal medical centers. The updated building also features a modern conference room where seminars, master classes, and scientific meetings can be held.
