Wink announces the completion of filming for the sci-fi series.

      The filming of the new fantasy series "Knights of the Forty Islands" (18+) for the online cinema Wink (a joint venture of "Rostelecom" and NMG) based on the novel of the same name by Sergey Lukyanenko has been completed. The main roles in the project were played by Artem Koshman, Polina Gukhman, Veronika Ustimova, Oleg Savostyuk, Svyatoslav Rogozhan, Kuzma Kotrelyov, Nikita Kologrivyy, Elisei Chuchilin, Alexandra Nesterova, Nika Zhukova, as well as Mikhail Porechenkov, Alexander Oblasov, Dmitry Kulichkov, and Yulia Volkova in the roles of parents. The director of the project is Egor Chichkanov (series "Combination", "And Again Hello!").

      Modern teenagers, trying to escape from reality, find themselves in a world where every day they must prove their right to exist with a sword in hand. The main character Dima goes to the world of the Forty Islands in pursuit of his beloved. There, the weather is always beautiful, the sea is azure, the sand is warm, and the only, but cruel downside is the unending war of all against all.

      "The task was to get as close as possible to the unreal, but very alluring world created by Sergey Lukyanenko. But the script and the book are still different things, and we allowed ourselves to create a story 'based on'. 'Knights of the Forty Islands' is about basic human qualities that only manifest when we face a truly difficult dramatic choice."

      "It was very interesting to dive in and try to tell this story. Our plot centers on teenagers, and that's cool—I enjoyed working with them and was energized. The guys were ready for experiments, for complex staged scenes and stunts. The book has great ideas, and the whole team tried to develop, enhance, and highlight these ideas. I think, from a visual standpoint, we've never seen anything like this on our screens before."

Eras and technologies change, but the question remains the same: who are you and who do you become when external circumstances influence you? We tried to ponder whether there is an age for friendship or for growing up? In our feelings, a person matures throughout their life, regardless of age. Therefore, we really hope that this story will appeal to both teenagers and people with a lot of life experience—and our audience will be as wide as possible."

      The series is produced by INEY Productions and GALA Production on behalf of "NMG Studios" and with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI"). The series will join the Wink Originals lineup ("Word of a Guy. Blood on the Asphalt" (18+), "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears. It’s Just the Beginning" (16+), "Lily of the Valley" (18+), "Combination" (18+) and others).

      "Knights of the Forty Islands" (1992) is the first published novel by Sergey Lukyanenko, who soon became one of the most famous Russian science fiction writers. The author's debut was awarded the "Sword of Rumata" prize for the best work in the adventure fantasy genre, and colleagues and experts began to speak of the emergence of a new talented fantasist.
